Minutes of the Masters meeting 2008
(Translation of the official
Minutes as made up by Mrs B. Müller)
Date of meeting: Wednesday May 14, 2008
Location: Regatta Center, Medemblik, The Netherlands
Start: 09:40 hrs.

Opening
Masters President (MP) Rolf Lehnert opens the meeting and welcomes the
attendees. He is
happy with the large amount of sailors.
He is President of the Finn Masters now for 16 years. For health reasons he is not able to sail the races himself and he thinks that 16 active years are enough! The 2008 Masters are the largest and regarding that he will retire. In all the past years there have been changes, and so it has to be in a living class. Further changes he will leave to his successor.
As Rolf spoke in German, Dr. Jens Ott translates in English.
The task for the President is among other things to organize the Finn World Masters. This is not only the sportive part but also the social events for the partners and others who travel with the sailors. Before, the location will be visited and the infrastructure like space for campers and the hotel accommodation will be discussed.
This will also be the problem for the successor. At least one year before the location must have been seen. Two years ahead the Masters location is proposed and voted for.
MP Lehnert gives his thanks for the nice years with his activities and wishes his successor all the best. The meeting gives a big applause for the departing President.
Cash
check
Alfred Blum and Jiri Outrata checked the finances and they report everything in
good order.
Vote for the new President
Friedrich Müller proposes Fons van Gent.
There are no other candidates. Fons van Gent is elected with a large majority,For the present World Masters he thinks that it is a pity that 286 competitors had entered, but so many did not show up. A lot had sent a cancellation, but around 45 sailors did not show up without a cancellation. This creates unforeseen costs! They will receive an invoice afterwards with the request to pay the entry fee.
Maubuisson
Yves
Zoccola presents the Maubuisson location for 2009. In 1999 they already
organized the Finn World Masters there.
In 2010
the FWM will be sailed in Split, Croatia.
Closing
At 10.10 o’clock the meeting is closed and the attention for the Internet presentations is asked.
