Visit to Maubuisson, candidate for the Finn World Masters in 20xx
 
I visited Maubuisson after my visit to La Rochelle in April 2011. I had a spare day because of the flight back home not before Monday and realized that Maubuisson is only 150 km from La Rochelle. So I succeeded in making an appointment for Sunday April 3^rd. I had a meeting in Maubuisson with Mrs. Brigitte Viaud, President of the Cercle de Voile de Bordeaux and Mr. Xavier Sicot, who will be responsible for the Finn World Masters 2013, in case we vote for Maubuisson. remember Maubuisson as a good Masters Championship, in 2009, too.

On the club site not much has been changed since 2009, so we only had to discuss the Guidelines, regarding issues that can be improved, like the start of the dinner, more tables at the dinner and the prize giving ceremony with less people on stage. About all these issues we found an agreement.
For those who do not know Maubuisson yet: The club is located at a large fresh water lake, surrounded by splendid woods. The village of Maubuisson is at a 5 minutes drive by car or 15 minutes by bike. There are many possibilities for accommodations: hotels in the woods in the direction of Lacanau Ocean or in that village at the coast, apartments near or in Maubuisson and lots of "cabanes" (small wooden bungalows) in the woods near the club. Maubuisson has some good restaurants, as well as Lacanau Ocean. Bordeaux is at one hour driving, so family members who like a city tour will have this possibility. I think it is a good idea to bring bikes for those who do not want to use their car too much. Yours sincerely, Fons van Gent
