Barbados welcomes the Finn Masters 2017 World Championships
2nd – 9th June (including measurement).
The Barbados Tourism Authority, The Barbados Sailing Association and the Barbados Yacht Club are pleased to offer our collective services and hospitality to host the 2017 Finn Masters World Championships.
With world renowned hospitality, facilities, a long pedigree of hosting international sailing regattas and the home of Mount Gay Rum - Barbados is the perfect option when looking for warm, windy and unforgettable World Championship.
Barbados Yacht Club
The Barbados Yacht Club was established in 1924.
The Club has 1,000 members with several active racing fleets including J24’s and Lasers. The Club is part of the “Historic Bridgetown & Garrison” World Heritage Site.
Sailing Conditions
The waters off Barbados are pristine with a steady wind (12-20 knots) and warm weather prevails all year. More than 3,000 hours of sunshine are recorded annually.

Barbados is 166 square miles divided into 11 parishes
Climate
With over 3000 hours of sunshine annually the weather is almost always sunny and warm, cooled by the constant north east trade winds. The average daily temperature ranges between 84-88 degrees. The trade winds blow from the north east at a constant 12-20 knots day in and day out.
Language
English, although the “Bajan” dialect can be heard throughout the island
Time Zone
Four hours behind GMT in the winter and five hours in the summer
