Half a century ago on an island nation in the middle of the Atlantic, the idea was born to create an event for Finn sailors over 40 years old. At the class AGM during the 1969 Gold Cup in Bermuda, the Veteran Gold Cup was born. It has developed into one of the largest single fleet regattas in the world. It is, of course, now known as the Finn Word Masters.

Filipe Silva, from Portugal has won the 2nd Finn European Masters after a frustrating final day in Schwerin, Germany. Bas de Waal, from The Netherlands, secured second overall while winner of the only race André Budzien picked up third place.
Flipe Silva, from Portugal, has retaken the lead at the Finn European Masters at Schwerin, Germany, after two more races on Friday. Bas de Waal, from The Netherlands, drops to second, while André Budizen, from the home club, moves up to third after the second best score on the water. The best score was reserved for Michael Maier, from Czech Republic, who won both races.
